More 2004 Results and a BIG Weekend for TLW
I had two TLW shows this weekend. The first one was a free show at the annual Clarkson Honeyfest. Very successful show despite only having a few TLW regulars there. And then on Sunday we were back at the Hornback Auction House, and sadly the free show the night before didn't bring in many new fans. TLW needs a new building... badly. The Honeyfest show opened with a Battle Royal, the winner was to meet me for a shot at my half of the TLW Tag Titles. It came down to All-Star and Hard Rock and I ran in and dumped them both, thinking no winner means no match for me. Instead I met them both in a Three-Way in the Main Event, my 26th match of the year. Elimination match with Hard Rock going first with a Ankle Lock (from me) and a Crossface (from All-Star) for the submission. All-Star and I went on to a thirty minute time limit draw. Match re-started but the re-start was non-title, and All-Star counters a DVD into his Game Over manuever. It's an elevated inverted DDT.

After the match Hard Rock and I jumped All-Star and went after the knee. I drilled his knee three times with a steel chair before help came out for him. Sunday at Hornback's, match number 27 in 2004, it was me and All-Star again, and I win with a single leg crab about 15 minutes in. All-Star passed out from the pain, the little p*ssy. Anyway, that's a short rundown of my matches this weekend. The Honeyfest show drew more than 350 for the Main Event which was an AWESOME experience. Most of the crowd had never seen any of us before but they were red hot for the Main Event. Just amazing. The show at Hornback's drew about the same as it has been, blah.

2004 Results Matches 16-20:

(16)June 20th, 2004 - TLW - Andy Douglas .vs. Trent Richards

My first one-on-one with Andy Douglas, and this guy is good. People ragged on TNA for running with The Naturals as the Tag Champs, but trust me, they're good enouggh for it. Andy and I had a pretty solid match, at least in my opinion. Finish came with a sitout Pedigree by Andy for the win.

(17)June 20th, 2004 - TLW - The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas) .vs. The Power Trip (Vic The Bruiser & Trent Richards)

This was the second time around for all of us on the 20th. Vic had faced Chase earlier with me going up against Andy Douglas. Post match beatdown on Chase by Vic and I led to this tag match. And it was all me the whole way. Vic never tagged in, and I got my ass beat. Bad. I thought the chopfest I had with Vic was nasty, but this one was worse. Andy and Chase beat the living sh*t out of me. No official chop count yet, but it easily topped the number Vic hit me with. I had bruises on my chest for two weeks, on my back for more than a week, and a nasty handprint on my right side for more than a month after this match. No exaggerations at all. I'm pretty sure this one was a No Contest. I know from the beating I took that I earned the respect of The Naturals in this one.

(18)July 5th, 2004 - BBW - Trent Richards .vs. Hard Rock Higdon

This show was part of the Breckenridge County Fair. My first fair show in quite some time and my first match with Hard Rock in over a year. This match wasn't bad at all, and the crowd was pretty fired up. Hard Rock goes for a Sunset Flip and I sit on his shoulders and SUPPOSEDLY grab the ropes for the win. Me, cheat? I think not!

(19)July 11th, 2004 - TLW - Trent Richards .vs. Rob G. Rock

I went after Rob's leg the whole time. Late in the match he goes for a slam, and his knee gives out. As the ref checks on Rob's knee, I kick Rob low and hit an inverted DDT for the win. After the match I put Rob in a single leg and the ref reverses the decision. So I beat up the ref.

All joking aside, the ref in this one deserved to get his ass beat. He no longer refs for TLW because he refused to ref in a referee shirt. Instead, he chose to wear one of the TLW security shirts, and he made himself and any match he was in look cheap by wearing the shirt. He missed counts because he was too busy either marking out to a move, or trying to get the crowd to cheer for the good guy in the match. He's the promoter's son and he thought it gave him the right to do what he wanted in the ring, and he recently found out he was a wrong. He's a good guy, just a complete idiot when it comes to being part of a show. I'm glad he's out of the ring now though. James The Ref is ten times better anyway. Moving on....

(20)July 18th, 2004 - TLW - "True Talent" Trent Richards .vs. "True Talent" Bobby Shields

Bobby came in from Pennsylvania for this show. He uses "True Talent" as well so this match was for use of the name "True Talent" in TLW. Bobby is a really small guy. About my height, but very thin, so he was easy to throw around. Not a bad match at all and the finish was really nice. He came off the top for a double axe handle, and I kicked him low on the way down and hit a spinning DVD for the win.
